Stroke Stories Podcast Interview

This blog post is very different from previous ones. In July 2022 I was contacted by the Radio DJ Mark Goodier who himself is a stroke survivor. Mark asked if would like to be interviewed for his podcast Stroke Stories, to share my experience as a stroke survivor and how it impacted my life, my family and how society has not changed in the 30 years since having my own stroke at the age of just 30 years old. I had nearly finished writing this blog before the events of the last week took place which made me scrap everything and start from scratch again. I am afraid in this one I am going to ask you to think. All will become clear so please...

Welcome Natasha Hay

Natasha suffered left thalamic infarct stroke on 27th October 2021 and was fortunate enough to receive the new clot busting drug, which allowed her to regain mobility on her right side but lost the ability to join all her motor skills together - walking, talking, turning, moving her arms and her balance were all effected. Natasha is on a...

It has been a long time since I updated people on what was happening at Chequered Flag Motorsport. COVID 19 has played havoc with all businesses and individuals and we have been no different. Hello and welcome to our June blog. Firstly apologies, I did say that now we are out of lockdown and creating a new normal, that I would seek to keep you more informed of what is and has been happening with all things Chequered Flag Motorsport. Unfortunately, not only volume of work, but also health issues have prevented me from..

Welcome to Chequered Flag Motorsport

It is 7 months since I formally started Chequered Flag Motorsport. It has been a strange 7 months and definitely not one that I would have predicted, but I have come a long way. From my own personal demons of battling with fatigue and depression. Having a desire to help others and the formation of…

How it all began…

You may be aware of stroke either as a result of the impact on someone you know, a loved one who has suffered, what you have seen on TV, or you may know nothing at all. As a stroke survivor myself I wanted to talk about not so much the stroke and the immediate aftermath…
