Chequered Flag Motorsport is a not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC), meaning that we must have a clear mission and objectives that benefit specific areas of the community and any profit we make as a company, is used as we have identified to the CIC Regulator and not for the benefit of company directors.
The journey started in 2018 with Gary Booth the founder, investigating the possibilities of what could be done to help people after a stroke, life hindered by the loss of a limb or a neurological condition. 2019 saw him putting a plan together of how to present this alternative and much needed support in peoples rehabilitation and in 2020 Chequered Flag Motorsport CIC was launched.
Access to unique motorsport themed events, designed to provide opportunities to improve rehabilitation and reintegration for those with long term neurological conditions, with the aim of improving general wellbeing.
To become part of a like minded community.
Access to professional coaching around mindset and mental health.
Be part of an environment where sharing and support are key and to learn from experience of others, that have faced the same or similar emotions and challenges.
Being able to participate in activities never envisaged, which can lead to increased confidence.
TO FEEL AND ACT NORMAL!
To have the same access and in many cases greater access to motorsport as neurotypical, non disabled, privileged individual possible take for granted.
As a result of Gary's own experiences he established Chequered Flag Motorsport as a not for profit Community Interest Company (CIC).
Gary says, "I feel that we are unique in that we do not help a single group of individuals affected in a certain way, but we are open to all in our efforts to make motorsport widely available to those with a neurological condition, whether that be stroke, ASD, brain injury, mental health or many others".
Without the ongoing support of our corporate partners we would not be able to deliver what we do. All our events cost money and our partners contribute in many ways, not only financially but also by making facilities available, promoting what we do and helping with specific tasks.
This all helps us make our events more affordable for the community we are supporting to provide rehabilitation, reintegration opportunities and to improve general wellbeing and self worth.
Our events generally take one of the following formats :
Simulator experiences
Unique factory tours
Access to museum and specialist car collections
Track day experiences as a driver or passenger (not the usual 3 laps and your done)
Attendance at race meetings and VIP access to usual off limit areas
